I like to tell the story of how Milo came to be ours because I think it shows just how much it was meant to be. I had been begging my parents to get me a dog basically since I learned how to talk. When I was 8 years old, they finally agreed. After doing lots of research on dog breeds via my Dog Breeds book, I was convinced a Jack Russell Terrier was the perfect breed for us. We went on PetFinder.com and used the breed filter to look for adopted JRTs/mixes. We landed on a female who was a couple years old and filled out an application. While we waited to hear back, I still continued to look on PetFinder every day. One day, I came across Milos profile, and something told me that he was the one. I couldnt explain the feeling, but I remember running to my dad to tell him I found the perfect dog and to tell the people adopting out the other dog we applied for that we were no longer interested. We applied for Milo and were accepted, and I eagerly waited to go pick him up from the adoption fair at PetSmart on February 1, 2009. I still remember how little he was, being held in the arms of his foster mom, and how excited he was to meet us. I was so happy that day. I can hardly remember what life was like before Milo. He has been through 2 moves, 3 cars, countless friends, boyfriends, and significant moments with me. He was never the perfect dog, but we grew to love all of his quirks, even if it meant having to lock him in another room when we vacuumed or swept the floor, and listening to him bark at thunder and fireworks. He was perfect for us. Everyone who met Milo loved him. He was always so happy and just wanted someone to play tug or fetch with him, which they usually couldnt resist. He was the best big brother to Cosmo, accepting him right away and loving him so much. Not a day went by where Milo didnt make me smile. He lived a long, happy life all the way up until the end and he will be missed greatly
