We got Olive a month after the birth of our fourth child in 2005. We went to our local humane society to find a dog we came across her sitting at the back of the kennel she looked to be almost a year old the workers really had no information on her because someone had surrendered her in the middle of the night in one of the facilities outside kennels. She was very shy and seemed to be scared but full of love just waiting to give to us. After bringing her home she settled into life like she was meant to be with us even with the new born she was so gentle and loving and even with the older kids they would lay on her and she took it all in. The kids picked many different names for her but the name that really stuck was when I was in the kitchen making dinner and happened to drop some black olives turned to pick up what I dropped to throw them away and there she was looking up at me and that is how her name came about she was an all black dog who loved black olives. Olive has been through us having the four children then two more came along and even her getting older she still had the gentleness and love for the new babys as she did when she was a puppy. We where so lucky to find such a great dog I know there will never be another that could ever replace the love she gave us for the last seventeen years. We love you Olive and miss you so much.
