Duke definitely a one of a kind beautiful, big hearted, so loved sweet boy. He will be deeply missed, beyond words. Duke was my world, he was by my side and so devoted, every day. He would get so excited when the kids came to see him. He could hear them when their cars pulled in front of the house. He would cry until the came into the house and hugged and gave him a good scratch. I can’t say enough about the love I have for Duke. I knew I was safe because Duke was there. Duke was always a laid back boy. A kind of Old Soul. It’s not going to be easy, I miss him so much already. Duke was every part of my day. Our morning routine, meals, snuggles, kisses. Our Duke passed at home, quietly, at peace and no pain. I prayed very hard this would be his end of life. Peaceful, with me. He had a great day. The weather was beautiful, he enjoyed barking at the people going down the street, he ate a good lunch and he shared dinner with us and just went to sleep. I love you Duke and I will forever be heartbroken.
