One day, many years ago, I was walking my pup Idgie and saw this tiny little black kitten all alone, sitting in someone’s driveway. I found it odd and decided to see if she was OK. She wasn’t, and later I would learn that she had a severe upper respiratory infection. A friend of mine who taps cats, was able to catch her, as well as her brother. Both were knocking on death’s door. She and her brother recovered, and we adopted her.
That first day, Dot just fit right in, and Idgie just adored her, like the rest of us. They spent all their time sleeping together or enjoying sitting in the window, watching the world beyond. Her favorite place was always wherever Jax was, and she claimed Jaxon’s bedroom as hers. Jaxon’s dream of having a black cat came true. When we lost Idgie, she missed her deeply, but soon our family grew again, and she had her fur brothers Loki, Odin, and Ragnar.
Dot was always up for cuddling, playing, treats and, of course, her cat naps. We are all just trying to comprehend the loss of her. There will be lots of tears and reflecting on all the amazing, joyous memories we have of her. The one thought that brings all of us peace is that we all know she was reunited with her big sister Idgie. We love you forever and always, Dottie, Dot Dot. Our hearts ares broken, and you are missed beyond words ❤️
