I had gone to the shelter looking for a young cat for my son to grow up with (he was going on 2). I felt it important as I grew up with animals and knew the lessons I learned. So they tell us they have one kitten but it has a disability. I shrugged and said I still wanted to see him. Next thing I know they bring out this scrawny black kitten with one eye. It was an instant connection. While filling out the papers his foster mom cried. Had I not adopted him he was scheduled to be euthanized that very night. He came home and got to live almost 17 years of love. You were my best bud and I sure will miss you Jake.
