When i found the breeder for my second Saint Bernard a 4 hour drive to Northern Michigan. I brought my 1st Saint, “Bella” with me to meet her new sister.

Princess was adorable lovable and just wanted snuggles from both Bella and myself. We brought her home and for the first 36 weeks of her life i carried her like a small child or she would lay on my chest on the couch or bed.

Fast Forward four years and the once tiny bundle was now a 140 pound snuggle machine filled with puppy-like energy. With early puppy and dog training Princess had impeccable precision and attention to detail.

My wife (Michele) and I met in 2016 and she brought her dog Jax into our lives (Shepard Shar-Pei.) Princess and Jax immediately became inseparable despite the massive size differences they did everything together. Bella and Princess were the older sisters to our younger Jax.

My wife lovingly nicknamed Princess “Pooh Pants” one day and it stuck. Princess would respond to Pooh or Pooh pants. She was a treasure in our lives. Being that we don’t have human children our dogs are our kids.

In Early October 2019, Princess alerted me from sleep/and literally saved my life. Had i not been awakened, ER doctors said i would not have survived the night. I had Pulmonary Embolisms I was unaware of. Had I coughed or sneezed wrong i would have stroked or had a heart attack. Princess climbed on the bed and urinated on me, I know its gross, but it definitely woke me abruptly.)

Over the course of 8 years Princess and I shared birthdays. *yes my birthday is her birthday per birth certificate weird right? lol We would always get her the same toy an octopus. This Octopus with like 10 squeakers never got chewed by princess we called it “her baby.” If you asked her where her baby was she would go get it and bring it to you. She would gently pick it up and carry it with her everywhere. Tho, once Bella got a hold of it 6 or 10 months later, (when mom and dad weren’t looking) she would destroy it. Which was fine as Jax would continue to play with the toy carcass (no squeakers nor fluff inside.) for months after.

We just celebrated our birthday’s recently and my wife and i special ordered the octopus as it is no longer available in stores. She was happy to receive it and her tiara for her birthday but was less lively than she had been. I honestly believe she stayed with us for not only our birthday June 14th but my wife and my wedding anniversary June 23rd. Princess Crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 24th at 730pm. Our lives are empty without our Pooh. We miss her terribly. She will always be our special gift. In every beautiful sunset we will remember you.
